Windows Azure Pack: Chapter 3 - Connecting WAP to VMM

Come on, buddy! Let's continue our journey to WAP! We are almost there! I know it been a bit long, as we have had many things to install and configure, but actually, as you can see, this isn't so difficult. It is just a question of following the order. And you know what? in the end, you will be proud of yourself, seeing your Private Cloud with the cool Azure interface.

After those motivational sentences, let's continue with the next step in our deployment, which is just to connect the WAP service to VMM, so that the users can deploy the virtual machines in the Private Cloud.

So this post goes over these settings:

 

Open the Administrator portal available on our WAP server from this URL: https://localhost:30091/
After logging for first time, you will be asked to follow a wizard to explore the Admins Portal functionality.
 

After finishing the wizard, the first step is to connect our WAP server to our Service Provider Foundation Server. Click VM CLOUDS on the left-hand of the portal, and click Register System Center Service Provider Foundation.

Enter the SERVICE URL of SPF instance and enter the SPF service account. In my case, it is "CASURO\wapspf_sa". Click the checkmark button.

You will get the message "Service Provider Foundation has been registered".

The next step is to connect the Cloud we have previously created on SCVMM. Click on VM CLOUDS.

Click on NEW/VM CLOUD/CONNECT TO. Introduce the FQDN for your SCVMM server and click the register checkmark button.

Once the process is finished, you will see your Cloud under your SCVMM server.

If you click on the Cloud, you will be able to see the configuration.

Now that we have finished the complete installation of Windows Azure Pack, it's ready to configure the access for our customers. In the following posts, I will show you how to create a plan and how the users can add to the plan as well as  how the users can start in the platform with creating their profiles.
